Key dates
- D-30: book movers, tell your landlord, start decluttering.
- D-7: schedule utilities and list where to change your address.
- D-day: photograph meter readings and the new home’s condition.
- D+15: last day to report your new address.
How the checklist works
Tasks are grouped by how many days before or after moving day they are due. Tasks for children appear only for families with children. Most items are a common order of preparation and may differ with your lease and region; the address report deadline is set by law.
