AI Subscription Cost

Enter the dollar price of each subscription, your exchange rate, the tax and the card fees, and see the monthly and yearly cost in your own currency.

Work out the cost

Turn the prices of dollar-billed AI and software subscriptions into your own currency, with the tax and card fees you enter. Everything is worked out on this device and nothing is saved or sent. Prices and the exchange rate are not filled in for you.

Amounts are worked out to two decimals.

Use the rate your card or bank applies, for example 0.92 if 1 dollar is 0.92 of your currency.

Used only for subscriptions you mark as “tax added on top”. Enter 0 if there is none.

Example

With a rate of 0.92 and 20% tax on top, a $20 monthly service with a 2% card fee and a $200 yearly price to compare costs €22.52 a month and €270.26 a year, and paying yearly would save €45.04. A $10 service with tax included costs €9.20 a month. Together they cost €31.72 a month and €380.66 a year. Press “Load an example” to try it.

How it works

For each subscription the price is multiplied by your exchange rate, then by the tax if it is added on top, then by the foreign transaction fee, and then by any extra fee for billing in your currency. A monthly price is multiplied by 12 for the year.

You type the exchange rate and the tax yourself, because the tool does not fetch live rates and the right tax depends on where you live. Card companies apply rates and fees in different ways, so your real bill will differ a little.

Frequently asked questions

Which exchange rate should I use?

Use the rate your card company or bank applies, or the rate on your last statement. The tool does not look rates up, and rates change daily.

Is tax added to these prices?

It depends on the service and where you live. If the price you see already includes tax, choose “Tax already included”. If it is added at checkout, choose “Tax added on top” and enter your rate.

What is the foreign transaction fee?

Some cards charge a percentage when a payment is made in another currency. Find it in your card terms and enter it per subscription, or enter 0 if there is none.

  • The multiplication order is the same as on the Korean and Japanese versions of this tool. The English version takes the tax rate as an input instead of a fixed rate.
