Dishwasher Loading Check
Measure the inside of the lower and upper racks and the dishes you want to wash, and see how many fit and which ones do not.
Check the fit
Example
With a 50 × 48 × 30 cm lower rack and a 50 × 48 × 15 cm upper rack, plates 27 cm across with 3 cm slot spacing, a 25 × 25 × 30 cm pot and twelve 8 × 8 × 12 cm cups, 7 of the 10 plates and the pot go on the lower rack and all the cups go on the upper rack, so 20 of 23 items fit. Press “Load an example” to try it.
How it works
Each rack is treated like a shelf. Plates stand in the slots, so a plate takes up its diameter in width and the slot spacing in depth, and its height is its diameter. Other items sit bottom up and take up their base and height. Items are placed largest first, in rows from the back to the front.
Items that do not fit are listed with the reason: too tall for the rack, bigger than the rack, or no room left. Rack shape, tines and spray coverage differ by model, so treat this as a rough guide.
Frequently asked questions
How do I measure the rack height?
Measure from the floor of the rack up to the spray arm or the rack above, whichever is lower. Items taller than that will hit them and may block the spray or stop the arm from turning.
What is the slot spacing?
It is the distance from one plate slot to the next, which is the room each plate needs side to side. Measure it between two neighboring tines.
Does a result that fits mean the dishes will come out clean?
No. It only checks the sizes you enter. Overlapping, blocked spray and soiling all affect how clean the dishes get, and the tool does not judge cleaning or damage.
