Food Container Lid Finder
Measure the rim of your container, and the tool makes a table you can send to a seller, then checks a lid you are considering against it.
Make the measurement table
Measure the opening of your food container and, if you have found a lid you might buy, enter its listed size. The tool makes a measurement table you can send to the seller and checks the lid against it. Everything is worked out on this device and nothing is sent.
Example
For a rectangular container with a 200 × 150 mm outside rim, a lip that sticks out and clips on four sides, a lid listed at 201 × 149 mm with the same clips is within 1 mm on both sides and counts as the same size. Press “Load an example” to try it.
How it works
Measure the outside of the rim in the long and short directions, and the inside of the opening if you can. Then say how the corners and rim look and how the lid closes. The tool turns these into a table and, if you enter a lid, compares each side and the closing type.
Sizes within 1 mm count as the same, and within 2 mm are worth measuring again. A matching size does not mean the lid is leakproof or safe in a microwave, oven or dishwasher, so check the markings and the maker’s guidance.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I measure the rim?
Measure the outside edge of the rim, from one outer edge to the other, for the long side and the short side. For a round container, measure the diameter across the widest part of the rim. A caliper gives more exact numbers than a ruler.
Will a lid of the right size seal as well?
Not necessarily. The seal depends on the gasket, the clips and how the rim is shaped. The surest choice is a lid of the same model from the same maker.
Can I use the lid in the microwave if the container is microwave-safe?
Not necessarily. The lid and the container can be made of different materials. Check the markings on the lid itself and the maker’s guidance.

- No common standard for container lid sizes could be found, so the 1 mm and 2 mm margins are site defaults. The calculation is the same as on the Korean version.
