Frequently asked questions
How do tiered electricity rates work in Korea?
The more you use in a month, the higher the price per kWh. Outside summer the tiers change at 200 and 400 kWh; in July and August at 300 and 450 kWh. Moving up a tier also raises the basic charge.
Why is my bill different from this estimate?
The fuel cost adjustment changes every quarter, and items such as the TV license fee, discounts or an apartment’s shared meter aren’t included here. Treat the result as an estimate.
What is the “super user” rate?
In summer (July–August) and winter (December–February), every kWh over 1000 in a month is charged ₩736.2.
