Weak Shower Pressure Check
Choose where the pressure is weak, how it started and what the neighbours say, and see the likely causes in the order to check them.
Find the likely cause
Choose where and how the water pressure is weak. The tool lists the likely causes in the order to check them and tells you when to stop and call someone. It does not diagnose your plumbing. Nothing you choose is saved or sent.
Example
If only the shower is weak, it weakened slowly, the neighbours are fine and it is the same for hot and cold, the tool lists a blocked shower head or filter first and a kinked or blocked hose second, with two checks for each. Press “Load an example” to try it.
How it works
Where it is weak matters most. Only the shower points to the head or hose. Every tap in the bathroom points to a valve. Several places in the home point to shared building equipment or your home’s pipes. Weak hot water only points to the hot water side.
If a wall, floor or ceiling is wet, or the water is discoloured, the tool puts stopping and calling someone before anything else. It never suggests taking pipes or the boiler apart.
Frequently asked questions
How can I tell if the shower head is the problem?
Unscrew the head from the hose and run the water. If it comes out strongly without the head, the head is blocked.
What if the neighbours are weak too?
Then the problem is probably shared equipment or the local mains, which one home cannot fix. Ask the building manager to check first.
When should I stop using water?
When a wall, floor or ceiling is wet, the meter turns while no water is used, or the water is discoloured. Contact the building manager or a plumber first.
