Example
A fridge 60 cm wide and 70 cm deep, with a 60 cm door hinged on the left, needs to open to 90°. With 5 cm to the left wall, 100 cm in front and a 5 cm door and handle, the door opens to about 94.8°, limited by the side wall. Press “Load an example” to try it.
How it works
Seen from above, the door is a flat panel turning on its hinge. How far it opens is limited by the side space next to the hinge, by the space in front, and by the product’s own maximum, and the smallest of these is what counts.
It is a reference only. The maker’s installation spaces and your own measurements come first, and the result cannot promise the fridge will fit.
Frequently asked questions
How far does a fridge door need to open?
About 90° is enough to reach inside, but to pull out shelves or crisper drawers you often need to open it further. Enter the angle that suits you and the tool checks whether the space allows it.
Why does the side space matter?
The door swings out beside the hinge. If a wall or cabinet is close to the hinge side, the door hits it before it is fully open. The closer the wall, the smaller the angle. Space on the handle side matters less.
What about the space in front?
The door also swings forward. The tool checks whether it can pass 90° into the space in front, counting the door thickness and handle, and whether a drawer can be pulled out. Add the maker’s minimum spaces if you know them.
