Frequently asked questions
How is exact age calculated?
Count full years since the date of birth, then full months since the last birthday, then the remaining days. Your age goes up on your birthday itself.
When does someone born on February 29 turn a year older?
In non-leap years this calculator counts the birthday as March 1, following the rule that a period ending on a date that does not exist ends on the last day of that month (February 28), so the new age starts the next day. Some countries and organizations use February 28 instead.
What about Korean age?
Korea now uses international age for official purposes, but the traditional counting age is still heard. See the Korean Age Calculator for all three systems side by side.
